Öğe Determination of the growth performance ofMytilus galloprovincialisin nets at Gokceada Island(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2020) Keskin, I; Ekici, A.; Serdar, S.In this study, which was conducted between November 2017 and October 2018 at Gokceada Island, the specific growth rate (SGR), a length-weight correlation with a regression to determine the growth pattern of mussel spat, and survival rates of Mediterranean mussel spat were determined. Mediterranean mussels collected from the wild (N = 120) were grouped on each net (N = 40). Then, chlorophyll-a, water temperature, salinity, pH and particulate matter values were collected on a monthly basis, in triplicate. the mean chlorophyll-a was 0.21 +/- 0.12 mu g L-1, mean water temperature was 18.32 +/- 5.46 degrees C, mean salinity was 34.65 +/- 2.38 parts per thousand, and mean pH was 8.12 +/- 0.04, while the composite of total particulate matter (TPM) was 17.88 +/- 11.25 mg L-1. Length-weight correlation analysis indicated a strong correlation between the two parameters (r = 0.91). According to the results of the regression analysis performed between length and weight, a growth of negative allometry was detected in Mediterranean mussels (W = 0.0003L(2.7254)). Although the mussel survival rate was 77.5% in August 2018, it decreased to 13.3% by the end of the study in October 2018, due to the increase in the quantity of fouling organisms that gathered on the nets. At the beginning of the study, in November 2017, the average length was 19.58 +/- 0.29 mm; 12 months later, in October 2018, it had increased to 43.77 +/- 1.02 mm. These data indicate that according to the general linear model analysis, temperature was the only parameter affecting Mediterranean mussel growth among the environmental variables TPM, particulate organic matter, particulate inorganic matter, temperature, salinity, chlorophyll-a and pH. Since chlorophyll-a, which is an important parameter for the growth of mussels, remained at low levels in this study, its effect on growth has not been determined statistically.Öğe Importance of Inhaler Device Use Status in the Control of Asthma in Adults: The Asthma Inhaler Treatment Study(Daedalus Enterprises Inc, 2014) Yildiz, Fusun; Erbagci, A.; Demirel, Y. The present study was designed to evaluate inhaler technique and the role of education in relation to asthma control among patients with persistent asthma in Turkey. METHODS: A total of 572 patients with persistent asthma (mean +/- SD age 42.7 +/- 12.2 y, 76% females) were included in this non-interventional, observational, registry study conducted across Turkey. Data on the effective and correct use of inhaler devices were collected via the Ease of Use for the Inhaler Device Questionnaire to patients and physicians. RESULTS: Asthma control (overall 61.5% at baseline, and increased to 87.3% during follow-up) was better, with significant improvement in technique and decrease in basic errors to the range 0-1, regardless of the inhaler type. Overall, the most common basic error associated with inhalation maneuvers was failure to exhale before inhaling through the device (18.9%). There was concordance between the patients and physicians in the ratio of correct inhaler technique only for spray-type inhalers. CONCLUSIONS: Close follow-up with repeated checking of the patient's inhaler technique and correction of errors each time by a physician seem to be associated with a significant decrease in the percent of patients who make basic errors in inhalation maneuvers and device-independent errors, and with better control of persistent asthma.Öğe Thieno[3,2-b]thiophene and triphenylamine-based hole transport materials for perovskite solar cells(Frontiers Media S.A., 2023) Isci, R.; Unal, M.; Yesil, T.; Ekici, A.; Sütay, B.; Zafer, C.; Ozturk, T.Heterocyclic compounds have played significant roles in achieving high performance as hole transport materials (HTMs) for perovskite solar cell (PSC) applications. Various studies have focused on the development of fused heterocyclic conjugated structures for hole transport materials. In this report, three novel ?-extended conjugated materials (M1-M3), based on thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (TT) and 4,4?-dimethoxytriphenylamine [TPA(OMe)2], were designed and successfully synthesized via Palladium (0) catalyzed Suzuki coupling reaction. Their optical, electrochemical, and thermal properties were investigated by UV-Vis, fluorescence, cyclic voltammetry, and thermal analysis. The materials were utilized as hole transport materials in p-i-n architecture perovskite solar cells, which displayed performances of open-circuit voltage (Voc) as high as 1,050 mV, a maximum short-circuit current (Jsc) of 16,9 mA/cm2, a maximum fill factor (FF) of 29.3%, and a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 5.20%. This work demonstrated that thieno[3,2-b]thiophene and TPA(OMe)2-based structures are promising cores for high-performance hole transport materials in perovskite solar cell architecture.
