Öğe Effect of zinc on yield and some related traits of alfalfa(2009) Ceylan S.; Soya H.; Budak B.; Akdemir H.; Çolak Esetlili B.Effects of increasing dozes of zinc application (0, 40, 80, 120 kg ha-1) were studied on herbage, hay, dry matter, crude protein and zinc contents yields of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) for three years (2003-2005). The results indicated that different zinc doses had significant effects on these properties. The highest yields were obtained in 80 kg ha-1 zinc treatment. By this application, increase in yields were determined as 30.9% in herbage, 34.7% in hay and 32.1% in dry matter yield compared to control. The yields differed significantly among the experimental years. In the second year of experiment, average herbage, hay, dry matter and crude protein yields were higher than the first and third years but the highest zinc concentrations of plant were in the first year. Average data of the 3 years revealed that the least yields were obtained from control.Öğe Effects of animal manures on yield quality and nutrient content in organic broccoli (Brassica oleracea L. var. Italica)(Corvinus University of Budapest, 2020) Yoldas F.; Ceylan S.; Elmaci O.L.This study was conducted to determine the animal manures on yield, quality, and nutrient content of broccoli heads. Treatments consisted of 0, 30 and 60 t ha-1 of sheep and cattle manure and organic commercial fertilizer (B5A). Manure rates significantly increased yield, average weight of main and secondary heads, and the diameter in broccoli compared to control. The highest total yield (27.74 t ha-1) was obtained using sheep manure (30 t ha-1). At harvest, the highest amount of the total N in broccoli heads was measured at organic commercial fertilizer application. Potassium (K), sodium (Na), iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) content increased with higher doses but, phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) contents were not influenced. Additionally, the highest nutrient removal for broccoli heads was obtained at 30 t ha-1 sheep manure application rate. © 2020, ALÖKI Kft., Budapest, Hungary.Öğe Evaluation of the quality of life perceived by hypertensive patients and of the factors affecting the quality of life [Hipertansiyon tanisi almiş hastalarin algiladiklari yaşam kalitesi düzeyinin ve etki eden faktörlerin degerlendirilmesi](Gulhane Medical School, University of Health Sciences, 2008) Göçgeldi E.; Babayigit M.A.; Hassoy H.; Açikel C.H.; Taşçi I.; Ceylan S.The aim of this study was to determine the quality of life perceived by patients diagnosed to have hypertension and the factors affecting the quality of life. This descriptive study was performed on patients followed-up with the diagnosis of hypertention as either outpatient (n = 232) or inpatient (n = 89) at the Department of Internal Medicine of Gulhane Military Medical Academy between May 2006 and April 2007. A questionnaire constituted by two parts was used to collect data. In the first part, some sociodemographic features of participants, clinical aspects of the disease and availability of comorbidity were questionned. In the second part the scale of short form-36 (SF-36) was used in order to assess the quality of life perceived by the participants. The mean score of the short form-36 scale of the participants was 53.0 ± 19.3. Health related quality of life perceived by hypertensive patients with various risk factors was lower than that of patients without such risk factors. Risk factors of hypertensive patients should be considered on planning the treatment of these patients. © Gülhane Askeri Tip Akademisi 2008.Öğe Influence of tomato and paprika paste residues on soil properties and potato growth [Domates ve biber salçasi{dotless} ati{dotless}klari{dotless}ni{dotless}n toprak özelliklerine ve patates gelişimine etkisi](2013) Ceylan S.; Secer M.; Elmaci O.L.In this study seven different applications were performed with the residues of tomato paste factories, green tomatoes, cold processed tomatoes, paprika wastes, ashes of milk processing, and urban wastes in a field experiment on potato growth. The residues were combined with the mineral N, P, K fertilizer as soil amendments. These wastes were applied to the soil and allowed to compost for five months before the Solanum tuberosum cv. Marabel were planted. During vegetation the K and B minerals in the soil decreased whereas, Na increased. The nitrogen, Zn, and B of the leaves were below adequate levels. The iron in the leaves was above adequacy and Cr was under the critical value. The green tomato and paprika wastes had a diminishing effect on leaf Cd. The paprika paste wastes with the addition of minerals N and P increased many elements in the tubers to the highest level by fresh weight. Co and Pb were considerably higher by the dry weight of the tubers than most of the given values. The tuber yield was greatest with "Mineral K +Wastes N, P". Tubers with a diameter >55 mm were affected by the treatments significantly and "Wastes Only" was the most effective treatment. "Waster K+Mineral N, P" had a dominating effect on all of the quality parameters of the tubers.Öğe Microbial quality, and effect of cooking on survival of Salmonella, in Kokariç(1991) Göktan D.; Tunçel G.; Ceylan S.A special preparation from the small intestine of lamb, called kokariç, is widely consumed in Turkey. In this study, Salmonella was not isolated from raw kokariç. Conventional ways of cooking, except precooking, destroyed Salmonella in artificially contaminated kokariç. The microbial quality of cooked kokariç bought from street sellers was not safe for public health consumption because of environmental contamination. © 1991.
