Öğe The effects of acute isovolemic hemodilution on systemic vascular resistance during cardiopulmonary bypass in coronary artery surgery [Koroner Arter Cerrahisinde Uygulanan Akut Izovolemik Hemodilüsyonun Kardiyopulmoner Baypas Sirasindaki Sistemik Vasküler Rezistans Üzerine Etkileri](2006) Kocabaş S.; Ayanoglu H.Ö.; Aşkar F.Z.; Cökmez B.The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of isovolemic hemodilution on systemic vascular resistance during hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass. Eighty-nine patients undergoing coronary artery surgery, who had hematocrit values above 35% were included in this study. Patients with hematocrit >38% underwent isovolemic hemodilution during the pre-cardiopulmonary bypass period without reaching hematocrit values <30 % (AIH Group, n=64). Hemodilution was not performed for patients with hematocrit <38% (Control Group, n=25). Heart rate, mean arterial pressure, cardiac index, systemic and pulmonary vascular resistance indices and hematocrit were recorded at regular intervals. Pre-cardiopulmonary bypass systemic vascular resistance index values were lower in the hemodilution group than in the control group (2562 vs. 3155 dyn.sec.cm-5.m2). Systemic vascular resistance and pump flow indices, mean arterial pressure, temperature and hematocrit values were similar in both groups during cardiopulmonary bypass. The results of the present study indicate that pre-cardiopulmonary bypass isovolemic hemodilution may not be a cause of decreased systemic vascular resistance.
