Öğe Distribution, taxonomy and biology of Stenodactylus grandiceps Haas, 1952 (Squamata: Gekkonidae) in Anatolia(Universitatea din Oradea, 2014) Akman B.; Göçmen B.To determine the distribution and obtain detailed information on Stenodactylus grandiceps in Anatolia, eight field studies were conducted to the regions of Eastern Mediterranean Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia in 2007 and 2008, including the various habitat types. Collected 23 specimens (8, 5 and 10 juveniles) in the three different localities (one from Gaziantep and two from Kilis province) were examined morphologically and described in detail with some information on feeding and behavioral biology. © Biharean Biologist, Oradea, Romania, 2014.Öğe Lyciasalamandra arikani n. sp. & L. Yehudahi n. Sp. (Amphibia, Salamandridae), two new lycian salamanders from Southwestern Anatolia(Editura Universitati din Oradea, 2012) Göçmen B.; Akman B.Two new species of Lycian salamanders, Lyciasalamandra arikani n. sp. and L. yehudahi n.sp. are described and their relationships with similar and neighbouring taxa are discussed. Both taxa originate from areas new for the genus, with the former from around Erentepe Mt. (Kumluca, Antalya) and the latter from Tahtali{dotless} Mt. (Kemer, Antalya) in the southern parts of Beydaglari{dotless} Mountain range in southwestern Anatolia. Some information about their habitats and behaviour are reported. © NwjZ, Oradea, Romania, 2012.Öğe A new locality record of caucasian parsley frog, pelodytes caucasicus boulenger, 1896 (Amphibia: Anura: Pelodytidae) in the eastern Black Sea region of Anatolia(2013) IgcI N.; Akman B.; Göçmen B.; Adakul A.; Oguz M.A.A new locality record for The Caucasian Parsley Frog, Pelodytes caucasicus from Hidirnebi Plateau (Akçaabat, Trabzon) is presented based on our fieldwork in Black Sea Region in July 2012. Our record is a western range extension of approximately 15 km from the nearest reliable published locality. ©Biharean Biologist, Oradea, Romania, 2013.Öğe New locality records of eremial snake species in southeastern Turkey (ophidia: Colubridae, elapidae, typhlopidae, leptotyphlopidae)(2009) Göcmen B.; Franzen M.; Yildiz M.Z.; Akman B.; Yalcinkaya D.We present several considerable range extensions for eremial snake species in the arid regions of southeastern Turkey. Leptotyphlops macrorhynchus is first recorded from westernmost localities near Kilis (Kupluce village), Hassa (Aktepe village), and Reyhanli (Kilis and Hatay provinces). Spalerosophis diadema and Walteritmesia morgani are recorded from localities near Kilis (Polateli and (Jorten villages, respectively). Letheobia episcopus, formerly known only from the type locality in the Euphrates valley, is first recorded from a karstic area near anliurfa. © 2009 Deutsche Gesellschaft für Herpetologie und Terrarienkunde e.Öğe New locality records of the snake-eyed lizard, Ophisops elegans ménétriés, 1832 (Squamata: Lacertidae), in the western Black sea region of Anatolia [Anadolu'nun Bati{dotless} Karadeniz Bölgesinden Y?lan Gözlü Kertenkele, Ophisops elegans Ménétriés, 1832 (Squamata: Lacertidae) için yeni lokalite kayi{dotless}tlari{dotless}](2012) Yildiz M.Z.; Akman B.; Göçmen B.We report 18 specimens of Ophisops elegans from Kastamonu and Sinop provinces in the western Black Sea region of Anatolia. Previously, the northernmost known locality for O. elegans in Anatolia was Sinop Province. These new records extend the known distribution area of the species and fill the gaps in the distribution range of the species in the Black Sea region. The specimens were compared with the geographically closest subspecies, O. e. centralanatoliae from Uluki{dotless}şla, Nigde. On the basis of pholidosis, coloration, and pattern, the new specimens can be included in the subspecies O. e. centralanatoliae. © TÜBİTAK.Öğe Notes on the reproduction of lyciasalamandra atifi (Basoglu, 1967) (Amphibia: Salamandridae) from Cebireis mountain (Antalya, Turkey)(2013) Göçmen B.; ÇIçek K.; Mermer A.; Akman B.This report is the first observation on parturition in Lyciasalamandra atifi. We report data on a female of L. atifi from Cebireis Mountain (Cebel-i Reis, Alanya, Antalya) giving birth. In our field studies in Alanya province, we captured two males and a female. They were brought to the laboratory and kept in a terrarium for a short period on November 4, 2011. The female (SVL= 75.92 mm, TL= 150.11 mm) gave birth to two completely metamorphosed juveniles (SVL= 39.12 mm, 39.38 mm, TL= 77.53 mm, 77.78 mm) on November 5, 2011. ©Biharean Biologist, Oradea, Romania, 2013.Öğe Range extension of four species of snakes (Ophidia: Eirenis, Pseudocyclophis, Platyceps) in eastern Anatolia(Universitatea din Oradea, 2015) I?ci N.; Akman B.; Göçmen B.; Demirsoy A.I.; O?uz M.A.We report new locality records of Eirenis (Pediophis) eiselti, E. (P.) punctatolineatus, Pseudocyclophis persicus and Platyceps collaris in eastern Anatolia, Turkey. We recorded Pseudocyclophis persicus and Platyceps collaris in Erzincan province for the first time, representing a considerable range extension for these species. Additionally, we reported E. (P.) eiselti and E. (P.) punctatolineatus in Tunceli Province for the first time and extended their distribution. © Biharean Biologist, Oradea, Romania, 2015.Öğe Range extension of lyciasalamandra antalyana (Basoglu & Baran, 1976) (Amphibia: Urodela: Salamandridae)(2013) Akman B.; Göçmen B.; IgcI N.; Yalçinkaya D.We report 17 specimens of the Lycian salamander Lyciasalamandra antalyana, endemic to Turkey from Burdur province, in the western Mediterranean region of Anatolia. Previously all known localities for L. antalyana were in Antalya province. These new records extend the known distribution area of the species to Burdur province in Turkey. These new specimens were compared with L. antalyana specimens from some other known localities (Hurma and Yagca populations) in terms of morphological and serological features. According to coloration and metric characters, our specimens can be included in L. antalyana. This paper represents a considerable range extension for this species, 32 km air distance to the north-east and reports L. antalyana from Burdur province for the first time. ©Biharean Biologist, Oradea, Romania, 2013.Öğe Range extension of Lyciasalamandra atifi (Başoglu, 1967) (Amphibia: Urodela: Salamandridae)(Editura Universitati din Oradea, 2011) Akman B.; Yalçinkaya D.; Kariş M.; Göçmen B.Additional data on the distribution of the terrestrial salamander Lyciasalamandra atifi, endemic to Turkey, are presented, based on fieldwork conducted in 2011. Five new localities situated around the Cebireis Mountain (Cebel-i Reis, Alanya, Antalya) were recorded. These represent a considerable range extension for both species and genus, around 35 km air distance to the south-east. © NwjZ, Oradea, Romania, 2011.Öğe Rediscovery of the snake genus Eirenis on Cyprus (Reptilia: Colubridae)(2009) Schmidtler J.F.; Göçmen B.; Yildiz M.Z.; Akman B.; Yalçinkaya D.; Nagy Z.T.In April 2007, three Eirenis (Pediophis) levantinus SCHMIDTLER, 1993 were collected in the western part of the Kyrenia Mountains near Lapethos, Cyprus, in a Mediterranean mountainous forest. It is the first collection since KOTSCHY'S expeditions ca. 150 years ago. Like most new (re) discoveries of snakes on Cyprus (Hierophis cypriensis, Natrix natrix cypriaca, Platyceps najadum), this species must be consi-dered as rare, with a restricted distribution area. Dwarf snakes were first recorded from Cyprus (identified as Ablabes modestus) by STEINDACHNER (1863) and UNGER & KOTSCHY (1866). A further specimen was even depicted by JAN & SORDELLI (1866; under the name "Eirenis collaris"), but no exact localities were given. Subsequently dwarf snakes were treated as erroneously reported or simply forgotten, due to the lack of more recent observations. The specimens recently found by us, morphologically (pileus pattern) as well as genetically (cytochrome b sequences), resemble Eirenis levantinus, and they are especially similar to the specimens inhabiting the opposite eastern Turkish mainland (Amanos and Misis mountains, respectively). The possibilities of immigration over a Kyrenia-Misis land bridge in the "Kyrenian-Misis zone" or by passive dispersion are briefly discussed. A further dwarf snake taxon - excellently depicted and originating from Cyprus, but forgotten later on (JAN & SORDELLI 1866: " Eirenis modestus var. quadrilineata") - may be identical to or closely related to the mainland species Eirenis (Eoseirenis) decemlineatus (DUMÉRIL & BIBRON, 1854). © 2009 Deutsche Gesellschaft für Herpetologie und Terrarienkunde e.V. My feelings, approaches, and reactions are coming out of this lifestyle. If you want to learn something, experience it! If you take nature as an example, there is no chance of making a mistake! That is the right way!" . Prof. Dr. Bayram Göçmen. We (and many people around the world who know him) are in deep sorrow to have lost Prof. Dr. Bayram Göçmen, who passed away on 22 March 2019.
