Twenty-seven cases were male, 4 were female. HCC patients were older (61.1 ± 1.2) compared with the patients with cirrhosis (51.7 ± 0.6) without evidence for HCC. HBsAg was positive in 21 (68%), HBV seropositivity was detected in 28 (90%). Anti HCV prevalence was 19%. HBeAg was negative in all patients. Anti HCV and HBsAg coexistence was never detected. Of 6 alcoholic patients, each had at least one virological marker. These results indicated that etiologic factors in hepatocellular carcinoma in our region. appeared to be similar with the countries in where HBV infection is endemic.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessHBVHCVHepatocellular carcinomaHepatitis viruses in the etiology of hepatocellular carcinoma [HEPATOSELLULER KANSER ETYOLOJISINDE HEPATIT VIRUSLARI]Article72127130Q3
