Ça­lış­ma­pla­nı:­ Çalışmaya İstanbul’da bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinde elektif KABG ameliyatı geçiren, 18 yaş üzeri ve iletişim sorunu bulunmayan toplam 195 hasta (159 erkek, 36 kadın; ort. yaş 56.8±8.5 yıl; dağılım 32-78 yıl) dahil edildi. Yaşam kalitesi ameliyattan önce ve ameliyattan altı hafta ve bir yıl sonra Kısa Form 36 (KF-36) ile ölçüldü. Bul gu lar: Hastaların ameliyattan altı hafta ve bir yıl sonraki yaşam kalitesi alt boyut puan ortalamaları ameliyat öncesi değerlere göre anlamlı derecede arttı (p<0.001). Ameliyat öncesine göre en fazla artış ame- liyattan bir yıl sonra sosyal fonksiyon, fiziksel rol ve önceki bir yıl süresince sağlıktaki değişiklik puanla- rında oldu. So­nuç:­ Hastaların yaşam kalitesi ameliyat sonrası dönem- de tüm boyutlarda artış gösterdi.Background:&shy; This study aims to evaluate pre- and postoperative quality of life of the patients who underwent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Methods: The study included a total of 195 patients (159 males, 36 females; mean age 56.8&plusmn;8.5 years; range, 32 to 78 years) above 18 years of age who had no communication problem and underwent elective CABG in a training and research hospital in Istanbul. The quality of life was measured using the Short-Form 36 (SF-36) preoperatively and at six weeks and one year postoperatively. Results:&shy; Patients’ mean scores for sub-aspects of the quality of life were significantly increased at six weeks and one year postoperatively compared to preoperative values (p&lt;0.001). Compared to preoperative period, the most significant increases were in scores for social function, physical role, and changes in health status during the preceding year at one year postoperatively.
