Mitch, which is on the list of harmful invasive species in many countries, is reported from Muğla–Köyceğiz as a new invasive species record for the flora of Türkiye. This species was found by chance on 11 March 2017, during the field work of the date palm project (TUBİTAK 116Z288) carried out by the authors.
