Hastaların önemli bir kısmında altta bir malignite varlığı tespit edilebilmektedir. Birliktelik genellikle solid organ tümörleri olmakla beraber birçok malign neoplazi ile ilişkili olabilir. Bu nedenle hastalarda sadece hastalık yönetiminin gerçekleştirilmesi değil, sistemik açıdan da detaylı bir şekilde taranması ve gelecekte de bu açıdan izlenmesi önemlidir.
