Objectives: The research was carried out to determine the relationship between the fear of COVID-19 experienced by adults and life satisfaction and the factors affecting it. Methods: The descriptive cross-sectional research data were obtained from 185 individuals who admitted to the Emergency Department of a District State Hospital between February 2021-June 2021 and accepted to participate in the study. Socio-demographic data form, Fear of Covid-19 Scale, and Life Satisfaction Scale were used to obtain the data. One-way ANOVA test was used in the comparison of more than two groups, and Pearson correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the scales. Results: The mean score of the “COVID-19 Fear Scale” was 23.22+7.89 and the mean score of the “Life Satisfaction Scale” was 12.16+5.07. There was a negative, highly significant and moderate correlational relationship between fear of COVID-19 and life satisfaction level (r =-,372, p<.001). At the same time, fear of COVID-19 explained a significant portion (13.9%) of the variance in life satisfaction level (R2 =-13.9, F = 29.28, p <.001). Conclusion: In our study, it was determined that the fear of COVID-19 of the participants was above moderate and their life satisfaction was moderate; It has been found that the quality of life decreases as the fear of COVID-19 increases. © 2023, Dokuz Eylul University.
