Yaş dağılımının her iki körfezde de 0-IX. yaş grupları arasında olduğu bulunmuştur. İzmir ve Edremit Körfezleri için boy-ağırlık ilişkisi ile sonsuz boy denklemleri sırasıyla W = 0.0065L3.10 , Lt=32.08 [1-e-0.122(t+3.204)] ve W = 0.0041L3.32, Lt=31.54 [1-e-0.129(t+3.107)] olarak hesaplanmıştır. Türün besin olarak Algler, Crustacea, Polychaeta, Cnidaria ve Copepoda'yı tercih ettiği saptanmıştır. Üremenin her iki körfezde de Ocak-Mayıs ayları arasında gerçekleştiği bulunmuşturThis study is conducted in order to determine the length, weight, age and sex distributions, feeding and spawning features and growth parameters of Bogue (Boops boops L., 1758) in Izmir and Edremit Bays between September 2004 and August 2005. The specimens were collected by gill nets.During the research period, a total of 2395 specimens, 1245 from Izmir Bay and 1150 from Edremit Bay, were investigated. The total length and weight distributions were found between 9.5-27.1 cm and 7.79-267.76 g for Izmir Bay, and between 9.3-28.1 cm and 7.74-237.55 g for Edremit Bay, respectively. Ages were found between 0 and IX for both bay. The weight-length relationships and von Bertalanffy growth equations were calculated as W = 0.0065L3.10, Lt=32.08 [1-e-0.122(t+3.204)] for Izmir Bay and W= 0.0041L3.32, Lt=31.54 [1-e-0.129(t+3.107)] for Edremit Bay, respectively. It was found that the species preferred Algae, Crustacea Polychaeta, Cnidaria and Copepoda as food items in the study areas.
