However, patients undergoing reoperative myocardial revascularization still face markedly elevated perioperative mortality and morbidity. On the other hand, the incidence of reoperative coronary bypass surgery continues to increase. Aggressive perioperative care and optimal myocardial protection is mandatory in these patients.
