Disinfectants used for material and equipment cleaning and hygiene purposes are dangerous for living creatures and workers. In this study, the effects of chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) which is used as disinfectant in fry and portioned fishes in the production facilities and the cleaning of materials and equipment in the production facilities were investigated. The study was carried out in the marine fish production facilities operating in the Çeşme, Karaburun, Urla and Çandarlı regions of İzmir. In this study, the main effects and percentages of the employees between the ages of 18 and 50 in the use of disinfectants are listed as follows: Skin and skin problems, Eczema, Allergy (77%), Respiratory system and lung problems (55%), Visual and eye problems (44%) Digestive system problems (vomiting, diarrhea) (11%).
