Özet
Ötanaziye ilişkin konular tüm dünyanın ilgisini çekmeye devam etmektedir. Çoğu ülkelerde ötanazi yasal veya sosyal olarak kabul edilen bir durum olarak düşünülmemektedir. Birçok ülke bu konuya ilişkin uygun bir yaklaşımı belirlemeye çalışmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir hastanede çalışan hekim ve hemşirelerin ötanazi isteyen hasta ve hasta yakınlarıyla karşılaşma durumunun belirlenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, bir kamu hastanesinde çalışan 150 hekim ve 150 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında anket formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ki-kare testi kullanılmıştır. Hekimlerin %14.7'sinin ve hemşirelerin %12.7'sinin ötanazi isteyen hasta ile ve hekimlerin %11.3'ünün ve hemşirelerin %12.7'sinin kendi hastaları için ötanazi isteyen hasta yakını ile karşılaştıkları saptanmıştır. Sonuçlar hasta ve hasta yakınlarının isteklerinin gelecekte tıbbi uygulamayı etkileyebileceğini ima etmektedir.
Issues related to euthanasia has continued to be a subject of worldwide interest. Euthanasia is not considered legally or socially acceptable in most countries. Many countries try to determine an appropriate attitude about this subject. It is necessary to evaluate the thoughts related to euthanasia of the people in our country and health care providers. the aim of this study was to determine the status of facing with patients and patients' relations who ask for euthanasia of nurses and physicians working in a hospital. the sample of the study consists of one hundred and fifty physicians an one hundred and fifty nurses who work in a state hospital. in collecting of the data a questionnaire form was used. Chi-square test was used in analizing of the data. It was found that 14.7% of the phyisicians and 12.7 of nurses faced with patients who ask for euthanasia for themselves and 11.3%of physicians and 12.7% of nurses faced with relations who ask for euthanasia for their patients. This result imply that demands of patients and their relations may be influence the medical practice in the future.
