Nucleate pool boiling performance of acetone-ethanol and methylene chloride-ethanol binary mixtures

Nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficients for acetone-ethanol and methylene chlorideethanol binary mixtures are measured at pressures ranging from 2.0 to 5.0 bar at which the heat fluxes are varied from 10 to 40 kW m-2. Experimental results are tested with the correlations of Happel-Stephan and Schmadl-Bier. Although both correlations are in good agreement with the experimental results, Happel-Stephan's correlation is the more representative form. © 1989.
