Özet
Rituals in nearly all disciplines of social sciences, particularly anthropology, are regarded as the most important fields of cultural expressions and construction. Rituals give important hints about the political, social and cultural identities of societies, especially via the music they contain. Rituals are even more important databases regarding the identification of diasporic societies. Almost each one of the communities gaining diaspora experiences reveals their cultural identity in these events, whether they are in daily life or not. Along with the migrations that began about 300 years ago, in particular the exile in 1944, completely forced the Crimean Tatars to live out of Crimea, their homeland. The Crimean Tatars began to return to Crimea as a result of the liberal policies which started in the 1990s, the influence of the political winds and the collapse of the USSR. Returning to Crimea provided a formation chance of a new cultural identity to the Crimean Tatars. This article attempts to identify the Crimean Tatar cultural identity which emerged in this regard, in the context of the "derviza" ritual, from the Crimean Ansambl performance, a Crimean Tatar music community. © 2018, Ahmet Yesevi University.
