Özet
Amaç: Bu tanımlayıcı çalışmanın amacı, huzurevinde kalan yaşlı bireylerin uyku kalitelerini değerlendirmektir. Yöntem ve Gereç: Araştırmaya 25 Mart – 25 Nisan 2005 tarihleri arasında T.C. Emekli Sandığı Narlıdere Dinlenme ve Bakımevi'nde bulunan 60 yaş ve üzerindeki 100 yaşlı birey alındı. Uyku kalitesini değerlendirmek için Pittsburg Uyku Kalitesi İndeksi (PUKİ) kullanıldı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; “Student t” testi, “Tek yönlü varyans” analizi ve “Tukey post hoc” analizi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Yaşlı bireylerin %77'sinin kötü uyku kalitesine sahip olduğu ve ortalama uyku kalitesi puanlarının 8.02±2.87 olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın sonuçları, huzurevinde kalan yaşlı bireylerin uyku kalitesinin düşük olduğunu desteklemektedir.

Material and Methods: Between 25 March- 25 April 2005 a total of 100 elderly individuals who were? 60 years age, and who were residing in T.C. Retirement Foundation Narlıdere Rest and Nursing Home were enrolled in the study. To assess the sleep quality, the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used. In the evaluation of data; “Student's t” test, “one way variance” analysis, and “Tukey post hoc analysis” were used. Results: It was found that 77% of individuals had poor sleep, and mean sleep quality score was 8.02±2.87. Conclusion: The results of this study suggested that sleep quality of nursing home residents is at “low level”.
