Benjamin, tarihi anlamanın doğası hakkında yazarken, fotoğrafla tarih arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla anahtar kavramlardan yararlanmıştır. Bu makale, Walter Benjamin’in fotoğraf ve tarih analizlerini yaparken kullandığı kavramları incelemektedir. Bu kavramlar Benjamin için, gelenek, yeniden üretim, optik bilinçaltı, diyalektik görüntü, rastlantı kıvılcımı, auranın aktarımı, şimdi ve buradalık, biricikliktir. Benjamin tarih felsefesinde, fotoğrafçılığın metaforik anlatımından etkilenmiştir.
When Benjamin has written about the nature of historical understanding, he referred key concepts in order to reveal the relationship between photography and history. This article explores these concepts in Benjamin’s analyses of the photography and history. For Benjamin these are tradition, reproduction, the optical unconscious, dialectic image, the spark of contingency, the transmission of aura, here and now, uniqueness. Benjamin has been influenced by metaphoric power of photography in his history approach.
