Özet
Skifomedüz ve ktenoforların dağılımı ve bolluğu, 1998 ve 2005 arasında yaz ve sonbahar dönemlerinde yerinde gözlemlerle incelenmiştir. Skifomedüzler (A. aurita, R. pulmo) Kuzey Ege ve Marmara Denizi’nde geniş bir dağılım göstermiştir. Yazın baskın olan A. aurita sonbaharda azalmış, oysa R. pulmo bu dönemde belirgin olarak artmıştır. Ktenoforlar (M. leidyi, B. ovata) Kuzey Ege’de bulunmamıştır. M. leidyi Marmara Denizi’nde 1999’da bol olarak bulunmuş, B. ovata’nın ortaya çıktığı 2000’de belirgin bir azalma göstermiştir. Her iki ktenofor da 2004 ve 2005’de çalışma bölgesinde bulunmamıştır. Bu da pek muhtemelen M. leidyi yoğunluğunda büyük bir azalmaya işaret etmektedir.
In situ observations of Scyphomedusae and Ctenophora in the coastal surface waters of the Northern Aegean Sea and the Sea of Marmara. Distribution and abundance of Scyphomedusae (A. aurita, R. pulmo) and Ctenophora (M. leidyi, B. ovata) were investigated via in situ observations (by snorkelling, boat, observation along the coastline), in summer and autumn periods between 1998 and 2005. Both scyphomedusae showed a wide distribution in the Northern Aegean and the Sea of Marmara. A. aurita, which was dominant in the summer, decreased in fall, but R pulmo showed a clear increase in that period. Ctenophores showed no distribution in the Northern Aegean. M. leidyi occured abundantly in 1999 in the Sea of Marmara, displaying a sharp decrease in density in 2000 when B. ovata occured. Both ctenophores disappeared in 2004 and 2005 in the study area, which most probably indicates a great diminution in the density of M. leidyi.
