Özet
Acoustic Emission (AE) is defined as a phenomenon, materials which are under stress, are emitting energy and producing temporary elastic waves. In this paper, analysis of the reinforced concrete columns jacketing method was experimentally investigated by acoustic emission technique. Non-load-bearing reinforced concrete columns with dimensions of 25x25x195 cm were reinforced with the jacketing method. With this regard, two different types of retrofitting strategies were applied to RC columns and were validated via the results of a reference column. The first column has impermanent vertical reinforcement and no anchors. Second column is designed as shear reinforcement (anchors), impermanent vertical reinforcement. As a differance from the second column in the third column vertical reinforcements are permanent. Then, the specimens under reversible cyclic loads have been subjected to failure. Result from this experimental work, the acoustic emission analysis of specimens are compared, commented and recommendations are made accordingly.
