Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of Roy Adaptation Model-based interventions on emotion management in university students with emotional eating behavior. Method: In this study, it is an experimental study with pre-test, post-test, follow-up measurement and randomized control group. The research was carried out with 38 students, 19 of whom were in the control group and 19 of them, who were studying in the preparatory class of a university and met the criteria for inclusion in the research. Research data were collected with the Introductory Information Form, Emotional Eating Scale, and Emotion Management Skills Scale. Initiatives based on the Roy Adaptation Model were applied individually and online to individuals in the initiative group. Results: There was no significant difference in the mean scores of the Emotional Management Skills Scale and the Emotional Eating Scale in the experimental and control groups before the interventions in individuals with emotional eating behavior (p>0.05). After Roy Adaptation Model based interventions, the mean scores of the ability to manage emotions were found to be higher in the experimental group than the control group (p<0.05), and the mean scores of the emotional eating scale were found to be lower in the experimental group than the control group (p<0.05). After interventions based on the Roy Adaptation Model, it was found that there was a negative significant relationship between the total score averages of Emotional Eating Scale and Emotion Management Skills Scale (p<0.05). Conclusion: In university students with emotional eating behavior, Roy Adaptation Model-based interventions reduce the emotional eating behavior of individuals, their ability to manage their emotions; It has been determined that it increases the skills of showing emotions as they are, controlling bodily reactions, coping and anger management. In the study, it was concluded that as the emotional management skills of individuals with emotional eating behavior increase, emotional eating behavior decreases.
