Özet
Objective: In this study was aimed to compare 9 Marrubium L. taxa, 4 of which are endemic, and different populations of the same taxon in terms of micromophological and morphological characters, distributed in the Aegean Region. In addition, it was aimed to evaluate whether the populations of M. vulgare, which is included in the composition of many drugs abroad, and which spread in our country, comply with the criteria of the European Pharmacopoeia. Material and Method: In the morphological examinations, macroscopic structures were examined and calyx structures were visualized by considering the important structures in identification key in the Flora of Turkey and the European Pharmacopoeia criteria. Micromophological examinations were based on the European Pharmacopoeia criterias. Result and Discussion: Different types of non-glandular and glandular hairs and micromophological structures such as stoma, vascular bundle and collenchyma were found in all taxa. Two subspecies of Marrubium parviflorum and endemic taxa M. rotundifolium, M. globosum subsp. globosum and M. bourgaei subsp. caricum according to the identifiaction key in Flora of Turkey, there are confusions in terms of diagnosis and taxonomies. In addition, 8 samples of M. vulgare population collected from 9 different localities were found to be suitable for the European Pharmacopoeia. © 2023 University of Ankara. All rights reserved.
