Özet

In the determination of the geothermal energy system for district heating, air conditioning and/or electricity generation, the technology, cost, benefits and environmental effects of the alternative projects are to be considered. In Turkey 90 percent of geothermal areas can be used for heating and cooling purposes and such applications have especially increased since 1990's. This study deals with the evaluation of several alternative projects related with the district heating and HVAC applications for the city of Denizli. The alternatives vary from the existing geothermal plant which is the simplest one, to the high stage system which is hybrid cycle/totally integrated geothermal energy system designed for the electricity generation and district heating/air conditioning for Denizli. in the comparative evaluation of the alternative projects, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) which is a multiattribute decision making tool with a wide range of application areas was utilized.
