INVESTIGATION OF RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF INFORMATION SECURITY IN TURKEY

Özet

Information security is defined as the prevention of unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, removal, manipulation and damage of information. The concept of information security comes from three basic elements called privacy, integrity and accessibility. The main objective of information security is to ensure access to information ensuring that the right person is as accurate as possible. in recent years, rapid developments in information technology have made it easier to meet the need for direct, secure and rapid access and have demonstrated the importance of human life. The purpose of this research done in the field of information security in Turkey is to investigate with the meta-analysis method. Within the scope of the research, articles and dissertations published in 2012 and after the scientific researches on information security in the field of education have been determined as documents by screening literature. The identified documents consist of 28 dissertations and 24 articles and their general trends of these researches have been examined by evaluating the subjects, methods and results of the researches carried out in these documents. As a result of the examinations made, it has been seen that the research topics are generally shaped by "information security awareness/pperception " and "attitudes and behaviors on information security". The universe and the sample determined in the researches were mainly concentrated on the students, the school administrators and the parents were mostly not included in the universe and sampled. Three dissertations and one article (parents), one article (school administrators) and one dissertation (both parents and school administrators) were received. Qualitative methods or mixed patterns were preferred in 9 dissertations and 3 articles, whereas quantitative methods were preferred in other researches. While the results of the studies are varied, it has been concluded that there are shortcomings / deficiencies in the strategies to be implemented when a negative aspect of information security and in general, awareness of information security needs to be increased. in the direction of these results, the studies are suggested to be done in the field of information security access to a wide range of findings supported by qualitative methods as well as numerical data, to be reached by quantitative methods and evaluated in different dimensions with sample to be selected from student, teacher, parent and school administrations.
