Özet

Consumption of plants as food is dating back to human history. Human, for the continuation of life, enriched and transferred the most basic informations about plant foods as the values of the local culture. To determine the plants used for food in Turkey, the localities, local names preparing and using types of these plants; all ethnobotanical studies in Turkey are investigated. In our study, 444 manuscripts and books which have the food plants, are investigated, 305 sources are determined as suitable for the scientific criteria through 1065 published data between 1936 and 2013. The literatures, authors, adresses, publication years, publication locations, research's types, names and summaries packages are recorded. 11 different types of plant parts are classified in 22 different food types according to the food plants placed in the literature. Nowadays, the searches for local and quality food supply raise high levels in Turkey and many food intended using data belonging to 1064 different taxa in the flora of Turkey recorded to the program "Türkiye Gida Bİtkileri Veritabani 1.0 Beta (Turkish Food Plants Database 1.0 Beta)". This database is a source which is in Turkish and rational, actual, interactive knowledge about the local foods for the health, food and nutrition professionals. © 2016 University of Ankara.
