Development Plan of the Western Tigris Basin in Turkey

In the western Tigris basin, Turkey is developing a £4 billion project to irrigate 0.6 million hectares, to generate 8 billion KWh a-1electricity with 2,200 MW installed capacity. The plan encompasses the construction of over one dozen large dams and half a dozen large hydroelectric plants.
