dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT At cinema, literary adaptation is to take a literary text and turn it into a movie scenario and to dramatize it with the codes of cinema. The rich bibliography of literature, the resemblance of them in structure and the late completion of parallel formation between cinema and technology forced cinema to get benefit from literature. The difference between the ages of Turkish Literature is always reflected to the cinema. For this reason, the adapted movies that belong to different literary eras have been done. Furthermore, literature, as a mirror of the society, has brought in different genres. The literature that reflects the society and its problems has changed according to the formation of society and this caused the formation of adaptation types in cinema which are new and totally different from each other. At the first terms of Turkish cinema, the domination of actor identity of theatre left its place to the movie players. Our movie, which was recorded pellicle and couldn't save itself just being a theatre play, has gained an original language power with both its technical opportunities and its explanation structure. In 90' s, cinema continued to reflect the society and while it was fighting for survival in early 90' s, it got back into life with the help of Yavuz TURGUL'S Eskiya. The adaptation movies of 90's have been in harmony with both the society and Turkish cinema itself. The directors who made adaptation movies took their place in different generations, such as young, middle age, old. And the adapted achievement reflected the literature from 1940's till today. There have been used three methods while a movie has been adapting; transposition, commentary and analogy. Cinema made literature material itself in 90 's, as it always did | en_US |
