Özet
Recently, strong earthquakes (Kocaeli,1999; Kobe,1995) induced a range of liquefaction behaviour in sand (also silty sand or sandy silt) and this event emphasized the importance of dynamic effects of cyclic loading on soil behaviour. Hollow cylindrical torsional shear apparatus is one of the test apparatus developed to investigate the stress-strain and strength properties of soils under cyclic stresses in laboratory. In this study, changing in strength properties of saturated soil having different physical characteristics under different test conditions was investigated with a series of torsional shear test.
