Dried fig is one of the most important agricultural product which is produced by using organic farming methods in Turkey. The aim of this sludy is to analyse the criterions affecting tendency to organic farming of dried fig farmers and effect level of these by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The price, cost, yield, marketing and sustainable agriculture-environment were determined as farmers' decision criteria in the preference of farming system. In the study, 67 dried fig fanners were interviewed in Aydm and Izmir. 29.9 % of farmers used organic farming methods and they have knowledge about organic farming and good agricultural practices. Producers using organic farming methods are younger and more educated than farmers using conventional methods. These farmers were included AHP analysis. According to AHS results, the most important criterion is marketing criteria on the agricultural system preferences of farmers. Advantage of price is the second, other important criterions are respectively sustainable agriculture-environment, yield and cost. Ranking for farming system preferences as decision criteria, according to marketing, price cost and sustainable agriculture-environment criteria, organic farming is first. Good agricultural practices is second. Conventional farming is third. Based on yield criteria, conventional farming is first, good agricultural practices is second, organic farming is third. Ranking of farming system preferences as together five decision criteria, organic farming is the first rank and has priority with 0.574, good agricultural practice is second (0.226), conventional farming is third (0.200). Economic criteria (marketing and price) have more effect on farming system preferences than sustainable agriculture-environment.
