Özet
In recent years, many studies have been conducted on translation and women from different perspectives. However, the number of studies on real women readers is quite low. The aim of this article is to analyse how women readers of the Early Republican period describe their reading experiences in their own narratives or in the general discourse and to reach conclusions about their reading habits and their views on translation. For this purpose, the accounts of women readers who played important roles in Republican Turkey in their autobiographies, biographies and memoirs about their personal reading history and the written and visual material from newspapers and magazines that determine the discourse about women readers of the period will be analysed together and a profile of women readers of the period will be formed.
