Özet
Amaç: Otuzaltıncı gestasyonel haftadan önce doğmuş prematüre bebeklerde prematüre retinopatisi (Retinopathy of Prematurity ROP) tarama sonuçlarını değerlendirmek Gereç ve Yöntem: Prematüre doğmuş 94 bebek, ROP açısından tarandı. Prematüre retinopatisi saptanan bebeklerde, gestasyonel yaş, doğum ağırlığı, oksijen tedavisi ile ROP arasındaki ilişki değerlendirildi ve sonuçlar Student t testi kullanılarak istatistiksel olarak karşılaştırıldı. Sonuçlar: Muayene edilen prematürelerin 15'inde (%15,95) prematür retinopatisi saptandı. ROP saptanan bebeklerin gestasyonel yaşları ortalama 28.5±2.6 hafta, ortalama doğum ağırlığı 1205±288 gram, oksijen alım süreleri ise 7.3±12.7 gündü. ROP saptanmayan prematür bebeklerin ise gestasyonel yaşları ortalama 30.9±2.3 hafta, doğum ağırlıkları ortalama 1472.51380.8 gram, postnatal oksijen alım süreleri ise 6.3+13.1 gün olarak saptandı. ROP gelişen bebeklerin gestasyonel süreleri ROP gelişmeyenlere göre daha kısa, doğum ağırlıkları ise daha düşüktü. İki grup arasındaki farklılıklar istatistiksel olarak anlamlı idi (p=0.002 ve p=0.02, sırasıyla). İki grup arasındaki oksijen alım sürelerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.7). Tartışma: Prematüre retinopatisine bağlı ciddi oküler morbiditenin azaltılabilmesi için, özellikle düşük gestasyonel yaşa ve düşük doğum ağırlığına sahip prematür bebeklerin, rutin tarama programlarına alınarak ROP gelişimi yönünden değerlendirilmesi büyük önem taşır.
Purpose: To evaluate the outcome of screening for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in infants 36 weeks gestation at birth. Materials and Methods: Ninetyfour premature infants were screened for ROP. The relationship between ROP and the gestational age, birth weight, the duration of oxygen therapy were evaluated and the results were compared statistically using student t test. Results: ROP was detected in 15 premature infants (15.95%). The average gestational age was 28.5±2.6 weeks, the average birth weight was 1205±288 g and the duration of oxygen therapy was 7.3±12.7 days in infants with ROP. The average gestational age was 30.9±2.3 weeks, the average birth weight was 1472.5±380.8 g and the duration of oxygen therapy was 6.3+13.1 days in infants without ROP..The average gestational age was less and the average birth weight was lower in infants with ROP than infants without ROP. These difference between two groups was statistically significant (p=0.002 and p=0.02 respectively). The duration of oxygen therapy between two groups was not statistically different (p=0.7). Conclusion: Using the screening programs for ROP is very valuable to reduce the serious ocular morbidity due ROP in premature infants who have less gestational age and lower birth weight.
