The use of informal learning environments is at an important point in education and training to achieve many skills and achievements, especially academic achievement, by contributing to lifelong learning through experiences gained by hands-on activities. Zoos, one of the informal science learning environments that are related to many acquisitions in the science curriculum and that can reveal various skills of students as a representation of a natural part of life, have been the subject of this research. The aim of the research is to examine science teachers' regulation of teaching in informal environments and to describe the use of "zoos", one of the informal teaching environments, with the opinions of science teachers. The research was conducted with "Convergent Parallel Design" from "Mixed Research Methods". The study group of the research, which was gathered by "Convenience Sampling Method", consists of 212 science teachers working in schools. The data were collected online via "Google Forms" using the 29-item "Out-of-School Learning Regulation Scale (OOSLRS)" and the "Teacher Opinions on the Use of Zoos Form" consisting of 8 open-ended questions. The collected scale data were analysed using Independent Sample T Test and One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program. The collected qualitative data were divided into themes and codes with the "Content Analysis Method" and expressed in frequency-percentage tables. The results of the analysis of the OOSLRS showed that there was no significant difference between the averages of the scale dimensions and the overall average of the scale in terms of gender, length of service and school type, but there was a difference in terms of planning according to whether or not to make a trip to zoos in a semester, and it was concluded that the participants who made a trip planned the informal learning better than those who did not. Although the participants declared that they were at medium, high and very high levels in ragulating informal learning environments, it was found that they were deficient in the planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching in zoos. However, it was seen that science teachers were quite knowledgeable about the effectiveness, importance and benefits of teaching in zoos.
