Özet
The current study established the relationships between total length and body girths (LGRs), and total weight (LWRs) for 13 marine fish species from Izmir Bay (Turkey). A total of 1282 specimens from 13 species belonging to six families were examined. The regression slope (b) of LGRs ranged from 0.200 to 0.737 in G(1) of Merluccius merluccius and Diplodus annularis, with the corresponding species-values for G(2) and G(3) being 0.244 to 0.834 and 0.237 to 0.917 respectively. Sparids generally presented the highest slopes between all the girths (G(I), G(2) and G(3)) and total length. Moreover, the regression slope (b) in the LWRs ranged from 2.80+ for Spicara maena (Linnaeus, 1758) to 3.33+ for Boops hoops (Linnaeus, 1758) and D. annularis.
