Özet
In present agricultural practices, pesticides are overused by farmers to overcome destruction caused by insects, pests, and microorganisms. Continuous use of pesticides may cause deleterious effects on environment and human health due to their toxic and carcinogenic behaviour. So constant attention is focused on developing quick and sensitive pesticide detection techniques to confirm food safety. Due to the recent advances in the field of nanotechnology, novel biosensors with indispensable features have been developed for the rapid detection of pesticides. Graphene oxide is one of the most widely used nanomaterials for biosensor research owing to its carboxyl and hydroxyl functional groups. This chapter reports the new developments in the field of pesticide detection using nanoparticle-based biosensors. Present-day challenges and prospects in the field of agricultural pesticide detection are also elucidated. © 2024 selection and editorial matter, Yugal Kishore Mohanta, Kunal Biswas, Saurov Mahanta and Saravanan Muthupandian; individual chapters, the contributors.
