Özet

Cankiri is one of the regions that Alevi faith started to organize since 13(th) century. The Alevi societies who dwelled in that region with the leadership of historical- charismatic people such as Seyyid Haci Ali Turabi, Seyyid Haci Muradi, Mehemmed Abdal and Cabbar Baba have been the representative of the doctrine. Seyyid Haci Ali Turabi, Seyyid Haci Muradi and Mehemmed Abdal are the founder of the three Alevi Associations in Cankiri. As a result of the investigations, it is seen that Cankiri Alevism has reached to Middle Anatolia, Inner West Anatolia, East Aegean, Western and Middle Black Sea Region. Although Alevism were alive in the different places of Cankiri in the past, today, it keeps its liveliness in the some villages that belong to Sabanozu. Rituals, cults, practices and beliefs that are maintained in the region have scientific priority in terms of the general definition of Alevism.
