Özet
Bu çalışma Bulgaristan'dan 1989 yılında Türkiye'ye göç eden Türklerin, kendilerini hangi kimlik altında ve nasıl tanımladıklarını göstermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bulgaristan'dan göç eden Türklerin tireli kimlik özelliklerini içerdiği iddiasını taşıyan bu çalışma, çok kimlikliliği (Bulgar ve Türk kimliğine sahip olmayı) aynı anda yaşayan, her iki kimliği de birbiri içine geçiren Türk göçmenlerinin, iki kültürün özelliklerini de aynı potada eritme becerisini gösterebildiklerini ileri sürmektedir. Kültür çalışmalarında giderek yaygınlaşan tireli (hypherated) kimlik, modernitenin temsil ettiği dualist ve merkezi bir yapının, öteki aracılığıyla kendini inşa eden tek-biçimci kimliğinin yerini almakta; akışkan bir niteliğe sahip olan, ulus ya da ulus aşırı coğrafyanın toprak parçasını tanımlayan, sadece kökene değil iki yönlü kültürel aidiyet, çift yönlü sadakati içeren bir kültürü ifade etmektedir. Bu bağlamda tireli (hyphenated) kimlik, sınırları belli olan bir özgüllükten ziyade, dinamik ve değişime açık bir biçime sahip olmaktadır. Türklüğü, tarihle kurulan bağlarla tesis etmeyi amaçlayan tirelilik, aynı zamanda Bulgar vatandaşı olmayı Batılı ve çağdaş olmaya eşdeğer görmektedir. Biz duygusunu, bayrak ve vatan düşüncesini Türklüğün ispatına yönelik bir metafora dönüştüren tireli kimlik, modern olmayı, çalışkan, dürüst ve düzenli olmayı edinildiği iddia edilen Avrupalılık kültürüne dayandırmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma, Türk ve Bulgar kimliğine eşit uzaklıkta durmayı hedefleyen kimlik söylemlerinin analizini amaçlamaktadır.
Dealing with the Turkish immigrants migrated from Bulgaria to Turkey after 1989, this study aims to present how this people identified themselves within the Turkish society. The concept of the hyphenated identity which has been common in recent cultural studies, substitutes for the informed identity that builts itself upon otherness. The basic feature of the hyphenated identity is that it provides the immigrant people with such a dual identity by mean of which there appears transitions through one identity to another. For instance, they neither can leave their cultural heritage in Bulgaria nor refuse their racial bounds in Turkey. Instead, they gather together both of the identities within the hyphenated identity. Thus, while they build their Turkish identity through their historical bounds, they keep their ethnic kinship from Bulgaria, where they had already internalized the Western way of living and thinking. On the same Turkish racial ground, for them, the idea of citizenship becomes a metaphor which stands for Turkish identity and nationalism, whereas the cultural characteristics such as being studious and orderly well upon their Western identity.
