Özet
Teknoloji büyük bir hızla gelişmektedir ve birçok alanda oldukça olumlu çözümler getirmektedir. Ülkemiz Türkiye de dahil olmak üzere gelişmekte olan ve gelişmiş ülkelerin giderek önemi artan sorunu olan yaşlı nüfus artışı, teknolojinin bu konu üzerine daha fazla eğilmesini gerekli kılmaktadır. Doğrudan yaşlıları ve yaşlı sorunlarını hedefleyen birçok çalışmaların bulunduğu gibi doğrudan yaşlıları hedeflemeyen, ancak dolaylı olarak yaşlı bireylerin hayatına olumlu katkı sunabilecek çalışmalar ve teknolojik ürünler de bulunmaktadır. Çalışmaların yoğunlaştığı alanlar yaşlı bireylerin bağımsız yaşamasına yardımcı olacak öneriler, sağlık konusunda ilerleme sağlayacak projeler ve güvenlik temalı projeler olarak sıralanabilir. Geronteknoloji; yaşlı kullanıcılara yönelik destekleyici sistem yazılım ve cihazlar ortaya koymayı amaçlayan, gerontoloji ve teknolojiyi birleştiren multidisipliner bir alandır. Bu derlemede "geronteknoloji" kapsamına giren teletıp, telebakım ve sosyal medya gibi teknolojiler ve çalışmalar incelenmektedir
Technology develops in a very fast pace and creates a lot of promising solution in various domains. Developing and developed countries including Turkey faces increasingly important aging population issue which requires more technological contribution in the area. There are scientific researches and technological advancements directly targeting old adults and also there are technological products indirectly contributes positively to the elderly life. the research is concentrated on areas of assistive technologies for independent elderly life, health and care technologies and safety theme. Gerontechnology is a multidisciplinary field combining gerontology and technology which aims to create assistive systems, software and tools for elderly people. in this review the researches and technologies like telemedicine, telecare in the scope of "gerontechnology" are presented
