Bu yazıda 1686-1710 yılları arasında Rusya'dan Osmanlı İmparatorluğuna gönderilmiş Kalmuk elçileri üzerine on üç adet Osmanlı arşiv belgesi yayımlanmıştır. Bu belgeler elçiler üzerine sınırlı bilgiler sunar. Kalmuk elçileri, Osmanlılarca Kalmuk Tatarı ya da Çerkeş olarak tanımlanmıştır. Osmanlılara karşı Ruslarla işbirliği yapan Moğol kökenli Kalmuklar, Karadeniz'in kuzeyindeki ve Kafkasya'daki Osmanlı yayılmasına engel olmaya çalışmışlardır.
In this article, Ottoman archival documents on the Kalmuckian envoys sent to the Ottoman Empire from Russia in the years of between 1686 and 1710 were published in Latin script. These documents present limited information on the envoys. These envoys were defined by Ottomans as Tatar or Circassian. The Kalmuks who were in cooperation with Russian always oppose Ottomans who occupied a part of Caucasia and of northern Black Sea.
