On the depth of occurrence of Rissoides pallidus (Giesbrecht, 1910) (stomatopoda, Squillidae) in the eastern Mediterranean Sea

Three male specimens of the mantis shrimp, Rissoides pallidus (Giesbrecht, 1910) were caught in Sigacik Bay (Aegean Sea, eastern Mediterranean) at a depth of 550 m. The species had already been reported from between 63 and 280 m in the eastern Mediterranean. Therefore, the depth record of this species reported herein comprises the maximum depth of catch of the species from the region. The known distribution of R. pallidus in the eastern Mediterranean basin is summarized. © 2011 BRILL.
