Sonuç: Her iki restoratif materyalin çürüksüz sınıf V lezyonlardaki 1 yıllık klinik performansı oldukça başarılı bulunmuştur.
Objective: To compare the clinical performance of a compomer and a nanofill composite applied with an antibacterial adhesive over a period of 1-year in non-carious Class V lesions. Material and Method: Twenty-four patients with at least two non-carious cervical lesions were enrolled in this study. Cervical lesions were restored with a compomer, Dyract eXtra (Dentsply DeTrey, Germany) and a nanofill composite, Filtek Supreme (3M/ESPE, MN, USA). Fifty restorations of each material were placed with no marginal bevels and no mechanical retentions using the same self-etch adhesive system (Clearfil Protect Bond, Kuraray, Japan). All lesions were evaluated at baseline, 6-month and 1-year periods using a modification of Ryge’s criteria in terms of color stability, marginal discoloration, marginal adaptation, caries formation, anatomic form, postoperative sensitivity and retention. The changes in parameters were assessed using Cochran Q and Mc Nemar tests (p=0.05). Results: All restorations were determined to be retained in the oral cavity at the end of 1-year observation period. No statistically differences were determined between the tested restorative materials in terms of all the evaluation criteria (p>0.05). However, two Filtek Supreme restorations of the same patient demonstrated marginal discoloration and a slight change in color. Conclusion: The one-year clinical performance of both restorative materials was found to be excellent.
