SUMMARY In this study, leather Industry which has an important role on our country exportation, has a great mould infection, in order to prevent this, some fungicides of chemically various compositions effect about their fungal growth on pickled and chrome tanned leather were researched. There are four number local race sheeps's skin are provided from Izmir city market it's canned aimed pickle and chrome tanning processes are lack of fungicide and it has three different proportion usage like 0.005 %, 0.015 % and 0.030 %, one of them is fenolic and the other one is none-fenolic so two different fungicides are used to provide this. Also, pickled and chrome tanned leather samples which are with fungicides and without fungicides, in conditions of including Malt Extract Agar nutrient and lack of Malt extract Agar nutrient, by using some of test moulds; Aspergillus nlger, Aspergillus flavus, Penicillium rubrum and Alternaria sp.. infection and load test are also made so fungicides's minimum inhibition levels were tried to establish. While following the improvement of ten test moulds including Malt Extract Agar which are inoculated on pickled and chrome tanned leather samples, it was observed that mould growings on pickled and wet-blue samples treated by adding fungicides have been prevented it, depending on fungicides rates increasing when used both nutrient and without nutrient conditions. As a result, according to mould species of the usage of various fungicide's, it's proved that they show different reactions depending on the usage of different rates. Although, like 5 x 10 */ml excess quantity mould 3kspore is inoculated to pickled and chrome tanned samples in nutrient and lack of nutrient condition, in pickled leathers, safety for four mounths as 0.040 % - 0.050 %, over the 0.030 % rate's, in one of the concentration mixed fenolic based fungicide or in the rate of 0.015 % the usage of TCMTB based fungicide is suitable; on the other hand for the chrome tanned leather, 0.015 % rate of mixed fenol 1c based or again with the same rate TCMTB based fungicide usage through the four months, to avoid from test moulds like A.rn'ger, A.f lavus, P.rubrum and Alternaria sp., it was proved that these fungicides provides preservation. 95
