Özet
In this study, our objective was to evaluate aldosterone levels after administration of furosemide and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibiting drugs in hypertensive and normotensive obese women. 40 normotensive (group I) and 40 hypertensive obese women (group II) were included in the study. Mean plasma aldosterone level changed from 9.45±2.60 ng/dl to 8.85±2.70 ng/dl after administration of furosemide in group I patients. In the same group, mean aldosterone level changed from 9.175±2.89 ng/dl to 8.75±2.70 ng/dl after administration of captoprile. In hypertensive obese women, mean plasma aldosterone level changed from 11.60±3.69 ng/dl to 9.60±2.90 ng/dl (P=0.04) after administration of furosemide. In the same group mean aldosterone level changed from 13.30±3.30 ng/dl to 12.85±3.67 ng/dl after captoprile administration. Despite normal range of aldosteron levels at baseline, hypertensive obese patients had higher plasma levels. © 2006 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
