Özet
Jean Baudrillard'ın 1981 yılında kitap haline getirerek yayınladığı çalışması Simulacres et Simulation'da birçok kavramla sentezlediği simülasyon kuramına göre gerçek; simülakrların bir yeniden-üretim döngüsü içerisinde, kendisine bir daha ulaşılamayacak biçimde yok olmuştur. Bu yok oluşta, gerçekliğin en üst basamaktaki biçimi de hipergerçeklik olmuştur. Kendi gerçekliğini yaratan bir iletişim aracı olan sinema sanatı, bu konuda önemli bir role sahiptir. Sinema, insanları kendi gerçekliğinin içine çekerek, kişiler gerçek hayata döndüğünde de bu etkisini sürdürebilmektedir. Çalışmada, bir simülasyon evreninde yaşayan karakterin anlatıldığı The Truman Show filmini izlemiş katılımcıların, bulundukları dünyayı veya ortamı bir simülasyon olarak algılayıp algılamadıklarının derinlemesine bir analizini elde etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bunun yanında; kişisel olarak yapılan gerçeklik yorumlamalarına, gerçeği algılama farklılıklarına, simülasyon evrenini işleyen bu ve diğer örneklerdeki filmlere bakış açılarına ve oluşturduğu farkındalıkların derinlemesine bilgisine ulaşmaya çalışılmıştır. The Truman Show izlemiş 12 katılımcı ile gerçeklik algısı ve simülasyon kavramı üzerine olan düşünceleri hakkında olgubilim deseni kapsamında görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiş ve yapılan nitel analiz sonucunda bulgular yorumlanmıştır.
According to the theory of simulation, synthesized with many concepts in Jean Baudrillard's book, published in 1981 by Simulacres et Simulation, reality has vanished completely in a cycle of reproduction of the simulacras. In the extinction of reality, the highest level of reality has been hyperreality. Cinema, which is a communication tool that creates its own reality, has an important role in this subject. Cinema can sustain this effect when it absorbs people into its reality and returns to real life. The aim of the study is to obtain an in-depth analysis of whether the participants who watched The Truman Show, which depicts the character living in a simulation universe, perceive their world or environment as a simulation or not. In addition, it is tried to reach the personal interpretations of reality, the differences in perception of reality, the perspectives of the films in this and other examples that process the simulation universe and the in-depth knowledge of the awareness that it creates. Interviews were conducted with 12 participants who watched The Truman Show about the perception of reality and their thoughts on the concept of simulation within the scope of the phenomenology design and the findings were construed as a result of qualitative analysis.
