Özet
Folklore studies in Turkey has began at the beginning of the 20th century. There are some important figures who must known by Turkish folklorists. Not only their names, but also their aims and works must be recognized. One of those early folklore scholars in Turkey is Selim Sirn Tarcan. In this article, I have tried to outline and point out some key words of the article written by Selim Sirn Tarcan. I, also, attached the original article written by Selim Sirn. The reason for that is his article was published before the alphabet change took place in Turkey. In other words, Selim Sim's article was published in 1926 in Arabic alphabet, and therefore most folkdance researcher in contemporary Turkey are not being able to use it. Tarcan's article is very important for contemporary Turkish folklorists from countless point view. In my brief evaluation or introduction, I have tried to explain all those points.
