Özet
Measurements of the optical time constant (tau(s)) and bend elastic constant (K-33) in the nematic phase and near the nematic-smectic A phase transition point of the homeotropically oriented octyloxycyanobiphenyl compound have been carried out with an optical modulator which has been developed to investigate acousto-optic and visco-elastic properties of a liquid crystal sample.
