Özet
Bu araştırma özel gereksinimi olan çocukların ebeveynlerinin, çocuklarının cinsel eğitimine yönelik tutumlarını incelemek ve uygulanan cinsel eğitim programı sonrasında tutumlarında oluşan farklılıkların değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada katılımcı ebeveynlerin, çocuklarının cinsel eğitime yönelik tutumlarını ölçmek için "Cinsel Eğitime Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Ölçekte profesyonel destek faktöründe 8 madde, ebeveyn rolü faktöründe 8 madde, gereklilik faktöründe 12 madde ve kaçınma faktöründe 11 madde bulunmaktadır. Ölçekten alınabilecek en düşük puan 39, en yüksek puan 156'dır. Araştırma İzmir ilinde bulunan ve özel eğitim rehabilitasyon merkezine devam eden özel gereksinimi olan bireylerin ebeveynleri ile yapılmıştır. Araştırma pilot uygulamada 5 ve ana uygulamada 30 olmak üzere toplam 35 katılımcı ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda katılımcı ebeveynlerin profesyonel destek, ebeveyn rolü ve gereklilik kategorilerinde puanlarında anlamlı artışlar ve kaçınma kategorisindeki puanlarında anlamlı düşüşler gösterdiği bulunmuştur.
The aim of this study was to investigate the attitudes of the parents of children with special needs towards the sexual education of their children and to evaluate the differences in their attitudes after the sex education program. In the study, the "Attitude Towards Sexual Education Scale" was used to measure the attitudes of the participating parents towards their children's sex education. The scale includes 8 items in professional support factor, eight items in parental role factor, 12 items in necessity factor and 11 items in avoidance factor. The lowest score that can be obtained from the scale is 39 points and the highest score is 156 points. The participants of the study were the parents of individuals with special needs who attend a special education rehabilitation center in Izmir province. There were 35 participants in total, five in the pilot study and 30 in the main study. As a result of the study, the participating parents showed significant increases in their scores in the categories of professional support, parental role and necessity, and significant decreases in their scores in the avoidance category.
