Özet
Çok eski devirlerden beri yün lifi değerli bir konfeksiyon lifi olarak daima popülaritesini korumuştur. Günümüzde, yün sadece konfeksiyonda, döşemecilikte ve halıcılıkta kullanılmayıp artık teknik uygulamalarda da kullanımı giderek artmaktadır. Bunun nedeni yün lifinin benzersiz özellikleridir. Yün lifinin güç tutuşurluk, antimikrobiyallik, kir iticilik, koku absorbsiyonu, dayanıklılık, esneklik ve antistatiklik gibi bazı özellikleri teknik uygulamalar açısından cazibesini her geçen gün arttırmaktadır. Yün lifi bu özellikleri nedeniyle teknik uygulamalarda istenilen pek çok özelliği karşılayabilen ender liflerdendir. Bu nedenle teknik uygulamalardaki kullanım miktarının giderek artacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu makalede, yün lifinin teknik tekstiller açısından önemli olan pek çok karakteristik özellikleri özetlenmiş ve yeni uygulamaları araştırılmıştır.
Throughout history, wool fiber has protected its popularity as a valuable apparel fiber. Today wool is not used only in apparel, upholstery and carpets. Its usage in technical applications has been increased. Reason of this is the unique properties of wool. Wool fibers’ some properties such as flame retardancy, antimicrobial properties, stain repellency, odour absorption, durability, elasticity and anti-static property has been increased its charm for technical applications day by day. Wool is one of the scarce fibers because of its unique properties. This is why it is thought that the use in technical aspects will gradually grow. In this article, the characteristic properties of wool fiber especially essential for technical uses were summarized and the novel applications were investigated.
