Özet
Kazan adının anlamına ilişkin pek çok rivayet vardır ve henüz bunlardan hiçbiri kesin olarak kabul edilmemiştir. Geçen zaman içerisinde, adın kökenine dair halk hikâyeleri ve mitlerin oluşması son derece doğaldır. Bununla birlikte Kazan kelimesi bazı araştırmacılar tarafından Hint-Avrupa dillerine dâhil edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Kaynak yetersizliğinden ötürü bu adın genel geçer anlamına ulaşılamasa da kelimenin Türkçe olduğuna şüphe yoktur.
There are many rumors about meaning of the name of Kazan; yet none of them are accepted as final. It is exremely natural create a number of folk tales and myths about origin of the name throughout the time. Besides, the word Kazan has been included in Indo-European languages by some researchers. Because of the lack of resources, even though the precise meaning of this name has not been known, the word is Turkish without doubt.
