Özet
In this article, the description of Ali and the names and terms related to him that take a large place in Fazil Yoldasoglu's narration of the Alpamysh epic which belongs to Uzbek Turks were determined and Ali's characteristics as a helper type, functions that he carries within epic and on this basis, the description of him as a helper type were discussed under these subtitles "Resolving the Problem Childlessness", "Giving a Name" and "Guiding and Helping". In the light of these determinations, the description of Ali in the epic was evaluated by discussing it within the contexts of Turkish believes, narrator's religious belief, epic school that narrator belongs to and audience. On the other hand, texts of the Alpamysh epic told by narrators who belong to different epic schools were taken in consideration in the course of evaluation and it was pointed out the similarity of the description of Ali as a helper type in the narratives that belong to the narrators in question to the Fazil Yoldasoglu's narration. In addition to this, in the article were discussed the reasons for appearance of the description of Ali and different names, terms, expressions and belief elements that gained wide currency and have a special usage among folklore products within Alevi-Bektashi belief system, in such a large form within a narration that belongs to Uzbek Turks whose majority is Sunni and the conclusions about this matter were presented to the scholarly world.
