Özet
JSTOR dijital veri tabanında bulunan Kur'ân tarihi konulu İngilizce yazılmış makaleleri incelediğimiz bu tezde, Batı'da yapılan çalışmaların bir kısmına ışık tutmayı hedefledik. Bu çalışmayı yaparken ilk olarak JSTOR dijital veri tabanında Qur'ân, Qur'ân Manuscript, Mushaf, Mesâhif, Qur'ân Folio, Qur'ân Copy, History of Qur'ân kelimelerini arattık. Bu arama sonucunda ulaştığımız makaleleri inceledik ve bunlar içerisinden çalışmamıza uygun olanları seçerek tasnife tabii tuttuk. Bu tezi, yaptığımız sınıflandırmalar neticesinde dört bölüme ayırdık. Birinci bölümde özel bir kuruma ait olan JSTOR dijital veri tabanını tanıttık; ikinci ve üçüncü bölümde sırasıyla Hz. Muhammed ve dört halife döneminde Kur'ân hakkında bilgi bulunan makaleleri ele aldık. Dördüncü ve son bölümde ise Kur'ân'ın dört halife döneminden günümüze kadarki gelişim seyrini ortaya koyacak bazı Mushaflar hakkında bilgi bulunan makaleleri inceledik. Çalışmamızı bir değerlendirme ile sona erdirdik.
In this thesis, in which we examined the articles written in English on the history of the Qur'an in the JSTOR digital database, we aimed to shed light on some of the studies carried out in the West in this field. While doing this study, we first searched the words Qur'ân, Qur'ân Manuscript, Mushaf, Masâhif, Qur'ân Folio, Qur'ân Copy, History of Qur'ân in the JSTOR digital database. We reviewed the articles that we found as a result of this search and classified them by choosing the ones suitable for our study. We divided our study into four parts as a result of the classifications we made. In the first part, we introduced the JSTOR digital database, which belongs to a private institution; in the second and third chapters, respectively, we discussed the articles that contain information about the Qur'an during the period of the prophet Muhammad and the four caliphs. In the fourth and last part, we examined the articles that contain information about some Mushafs that will reveal the development of the Qur'an from the period of the four caliphs to the present day. We concluded our study with an evaluation.
