in this study, as the first project, various parts of Chelidonium majus L. grovving wildly in Uludağ, Soğukpınar Village (Bursa) surroundings have been anatomically investigated. in addition, anatomical investigations of Herba and Radix Chelidonii, prepared from this plant, have been carried out and also their quality control determinations have been conducted according to DAB 9. in this concept, determinations of alkaloids by T.LC and assays for, ash, humidity and total alkaloidal content of Herba and Radix Chelidonii have been carried out. Although it is not included in the monography of Herba Chelidonii, an assay for sulphate ash has been studied by using the method mentioned in DAB 9. The contents of chelidonine and protopine, the most important principal alkaloids of Herba and Radix Chelidonii, have been guantitatively determined by two different methods based on spectrometry and optical densitometry. Furthermore, the method based on optical densitometry, which is modified by using the method in DAB 9, has been assayed on the-201- herb. As the second project of our study, Haplophyllum cappadocicum Spach. which is a species of Haplophyllum genus, collected from Boranköy (Malatya) and being phytochemically investigated in our department for its quinoline group alkaloids, coumarines and especially for its lignans, has been anatomically investigated.
